Family Links - Nurturing Programme

We are starting a new group for Parents/Carers that will focus on getting the best out of family life.

What is the group about?

Children are rewarding, stimulating and fun, but looking after them can be stressful and challenging.  Our group helps deal with those challenges, through strategies in dealing with unwanted behaviours and building positive relationships.

What does it cover?

Over the 10-week programme, you will look at lots of different topics, including,

Understanding why children behave as they do

Recognising the feelings behind behaviour (ours and theirs)

Exploring different approaches to discipline

Finding ways to develop co-operation and self-discipline in children

Learning the importance of looking after ourselves

Physical Development Workshops - Autumn Term 2015

All parents and carers have had the opportunity to attend workshops with a Physical Development focus.  These sessions lasted for just over an hour. An evening session was provided for working parents.

The session consisted of about 20 minutes discussing core development and it's effect on a range of physical skills, healthy eating, portion sizes and cleaning teeth.  The children then joined their parents to explore a range of practical physical activities.  The parents took away a pack of information to support the session.
