Keep up to date with all the latest news from the school
We are very pleased to announce that in our recent Ofsted inspection (Nov 2022) we have been graded as 'outstanding'.
As a staff team we are delighted that our hard work, dedication and commitment to the children who attend a]our Nursery School, and their families has been recognised, as has our expertise in supporting all pupils develop to their full potential.
'Leaders bring their vision of a place where children are at the heart of learning’ to life. Staff open their arms and their hearts to children and their families. They wrap dedicated care and support around each a nd every one , from beginning to end '
'Every minute of learning counts. Children explore, play, problem solve and think for them selves every day. They concentrate deeply and achieve well.'
'Leapfrog and Leapfrog Too, the resourced provisions for children with SEND, add a unique and special dimension to the school.'
'Children make very strong progress from their different starting points. They develop new skills and deepen
their understanding of the world around them.'
'Leaders take parents on a learning journey with their child. A range of workshops, the SEND café and stay and play sessions, along with shared story times, help parents to know how best t o help their child at home. A common theme echoed by all parents was how invaluable these moments are and that staff hold ‘ a special place in the heart of families There is a deep sense of all staff being there for the whole family. From form
filling to providing a shoulder to lean on, nothing is too much trouble.'
'As a parent said, echoing the view of many, ‘ The staff are wonderful. I know my child is in good, safe hands. They do an amazing job and fully deserve to be outstanding as that sums them up entirely.'
If your child will be aged 4 by 31st August 2022 they will move to Primary School in September 2022.

We are asking any family who is able to do so to donate items towards our harvest.
This year we are collecting items that can be distributed not only to the Netherton Food Bank but for any families within our Nursery School who will benefit from a little help and support at what is a difficult time for many.
Items we are collecting include:
Cereal
Soup
Pasta
Rice
Tinned tomatoes/ pasta sauce
Lentils, beans and pulses
Tinned meat
Tinned vegetables
Tea/coffee/squash
Tinned fruit
Biscuits
UHT milk
Fruit juice
Unfortunately we can only accept items that are in date.
We will also collect non-food items like toiletries (deoderant, shampoo, shower gel, toothbrush and paste etc) and hygiene products - this includes nappies and other baby items.
We will be collecting items on the gates each day as you drop off your children:
From Monday 10th October until Monday 17th October.
Staff will then sort the items we have collected.
On Tuesday 18th October we will open up our harvest collection to any family that feels they could benefit from items.(More details will follow)
Any items that are not then used by our famiies will be sent to the Netherton Food Bank to help the local community.
We really hope that if you are able to donate to this worthy cause you can so that all of our families are supported.
Thank you
Please NOTE: The Nursery School will be closed to all children on Monday 31st October and Tuesday 1st November. These are new dates and will not have been shared with you previously.
This is because all staff need to complete 13 hours behaviour support training on Crisis Prevent Intervention that is needed to support pupils.
This date has only just been given to us by the Local Authority and is out of our control.
Please note that these dates fall at the end of the October half term week and that we also have a planned INSET day for Friday 21st October.
Children will therefore finish on Thursday 20th October and return on Wednesday 2nd November.
We thank you for your continued support and understanding with this.
We have spaces within our Nursery School. If you have a child who is aged 2-4 years please come along to one of our open day sessions to have a look around the learning environments and talk with staff.
Please book a place at one of our open days by calling 01384 818255.
The Nursery School will be closed on Monday 19th September for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

With temperatures likely to reach the highest ever recorded in Britain, please look after those most vulnerable in your lives. Children, the elderly and those with long term health conditions may need help keeping cool and hydrated in hot weather.
Help them avoid heat related illness by:
💦checking they stay hydrated with plenty of fluids
🥵helping to provide a cool living space
🤸encouraging them to avoid strenuous or extreme activities
☀️ keeping them out of the sun at peak times
🕶 providing a sunhat, sunglasses and applying plenty of sun-cream when outside
If you or someone else feels unwell with a high temperature during hot weather, it may be heat exhaustion or heatstroke. Find out about the signs of heat exhaustion and heatstroke, and when to get help

Tuesday 19th July is the last day for all children. This day is also our party day and graduation celebration for those children leaving us to move on to Primary School.
Last week we were really lucky at Nursery to be visited by a fire engine and the firefighting team from Dudley Fire Station.
They have asked us to share this VERY important message with all of our families.
If anybody would like a FREE Safe and Well check for your home which includes information on fire safety advice and FREE smoke alarms fitted, please call 0800 389 5525 to book an appointment.
We would HIGHLY recommend that you take them up on this opportunity that could potentially save lives.
